Whereas Tim Story's Fantastic Four (2005) and its sequel, 2007's Rise of the Silver Surfer, embraced a more light-hearted and often silly tone, Josh Trank's 2015 Fant4stic reboot went to the opposite extreme, infusing the eponymous team with a heavy dose of Cronenbergian body horror.
